BIN 24 • STORY
Welcome to Bin 24 Bistro & Bar, situated in the old Arnott’s Biscuit factory in The Bakehouse Quarter, North Strathfield. We are 2 minutes from the M4 and Parramatta Road junction, 5 minutes from Homebush and 20 minutes from the CBD of Sydney.
The restaurant is an impressive fare located in the historic Arnott’s biscuit factory building and has been sensitively renovated to contemporary comfort and chic. The thin, stretched room of exposed brick, piping and heavy beams is a pleasing balance of heritage and contemporary design. At one end of the Blackbutt-floored space there are colourful lounges; at the other the open kitchen looks across tables and white leather chairs and banquettes to a large outdoor dining area. The warm elegance of the room creates an atmosphere that is sophisticated yet comfortable.
The European cuisine ranges from Italian inspired wood fired pizza to our chef’s love of France and Britain where he grew up and learned his craft. Chef / Co-Owner Derek Baker has worked in some of London’s finest hotels and restaurants. He was recognised by the Michelin Guide with a Bib Gourmand and three Rosettes by the AAA Good Food Guide. On arrival in Australia he worked at Bathers Pavilion on Balmoral Beach, before opening his award winning restaurant Alchemy 731 in Mosman on the North Shore. He has now taken over Bin 24 and his philosophy has always been to bring high quality, affordable food to the suburbs.
Our wine list is constructed by Robin Tedder who qualified as Australia’s seventh Master of Wine in 1997. His vision is to bring to you Australia’s finest boutique and family run vineyards. The concise wine list reflects a great selection of Australian and New Zealand wines from both new and old vineyards.
Our promise and commitment is to bring you some of the best that Australia has to offer in the way of food, wine, service and atmosphere.
